E207 St Nazaire Scenario |
|
Did you watch our St. Nazaire wargame and wonder how you and your mates might have fared in "the greatest raid of all?" You're in luck! We're giving away the scenario--complete with orders of battle, special rules, and our map--so that you can try this game at home. A copy of the Bolt Action rules from Warlord Games would be useful, though you could certainly tweak the scenario for use with other rule systems, as well. Fans of the channel may recall that we've also played Chain of Command, Disposable Heroes, and Combat Patrol! As always, THANK YOU for joining the Free Stuff page! Now what are you waiting for? Go set up a harbor and land some British commandos!

Did you watch our amazing First Manassas wargame and wonder how you would fare as Irvin McDowell? Or perhaps you wanted to try your luck as PGT Beauregard and see if you could repeat history? Members of our "Free Stuff" page have that chance right now! We're offering you the same scenario we played in Episode #206, which includes a large theater map for pre-battle maneuvering. You also get the Fire & Fury base labels, full orders of battle, and all the necessary background information to set up your own game. This scenario leaves an independent game master a great deal of discretion and latitude to interpret map movements into a tabletop set-up!
Are you ready to test your mettle against the oncoming Zulus swarming over the hills? Or perhaps you want to unleash the "horns of the buffalo" to crush the thin British line and wash your spears in blood! As always, we're offering you the chance to play the exact scenario you watched on Little Wars TV with your friends at home. This particular game requires some tweaks to the mechanics of The Men Who Would Be Kings, a set of skirmish rules from Osprey Games that Steve turned into a mass battle system. In addition to the scenario below, be sure to also download Steve's rule revisions! You will need both PDFs to play our scenario. UPDATE (11/13/19) We've also added the quicker, Quick Reference Sheet we use to play MWWBK in our club! This version fills in the gaps missing from the official QRS in the book and is our condensed version of a QRS we found online, made by "Arteis02".
If you watched our massive Trafalgar wargame, you might be thinking about tackling this scenario with some of your mates. Normally, the Free Stuff page is where we would post the orders of battle, map, and rules for you to play exactly what we played. But this is a scenario we purchased from Starboard Tack Press on Wargames Vault! It wouldn't be appropriate to copy and post that scenario here, especially when it's available at the incredibly reasonable price of $3.50. We'd rather you support this small, independent publisher by paying for a copy! It's well worth it. What we can post for you is a copy of the base labels Miles made our game--you are welcome to download the Excel file and use these for your ships!
Did you watch our epic D-Day wargame on YouTube to see if the Germans could throw back the allied invasion of Normandy? Do you think you could muster a stronger defense as the Germans? Or perhaps you think you could capture Carentan, Bayeux, and Caen by the end of D+1 as the allies? This free PDF scenario allows you to play the scenario seen in Episode 202, using Rommel. In order to make the game scale large enough to handle this massive operation, we had to make a few tweaks to the rules. These minor revisions allow you to use the "Rommel" rules for true operational wargaming. This half-page PDF supplement is also available below! You'll need it for this scenario but can also use it for designing other large-scale operations.
You can download the official "speed play" variant for Altar of Freedom right here, absolutely free! This one-page PDF supplement provides a handful of rule revisions intended to take a large multi-player game, like our 3-day Gettysburg scenario, and speed up the game-play substantially. This supplement was written and designed by the original author of the game and involves no major revisions to the core mechanics of the system. Click below to download your free copy, courtesy of the official Altar of Freedom homepage!
Did you watch the Season 2 premiere on YouTube, featuring our interactive Gettysburg wargame? Almost 10,000 votes were cast before our game for a series of command decisions the players had to obey, but why don't you give this scenario a try yourself? Rather than take crowd-sourced orders from the masses, you can play the full scenario and develop your own battle plan! The free PDF is available exclusively for our "Free Stuff" page members. Thanks for joining us!
