Almost 10,000 votes were cast before our game for a series of command decisions the players had to obey, but why don't you give this scenario a try yourself? Rather than take crowd-sourced orders from the masses, you can play the full scenario and develop your own battle plan! The free PDF is available exclusively for our "Free Stuff" page members. I really enjoyed the Gettysburg replay. Greg's observation about taking Cemetery Hill not making any difference is astute. Had the viewers ordered you to the "right" as you had hoped you most likely would have overcome Sickles, with loss, and gone on to take the Round Tops. Where you would have had the same problem, the fresh 5th and 6th Corps. either counter attacking or blocking the Baltimore Pike. Lee needed a decisive victory on Northern soil. The tactical result of Antietam was not enough to bring about a political result favorable to the South, just the opposite. The result of Chancellorsville, Lee's greatest victory, two weeks after the battle the armys were in the same spot the were before the battle, the South were thousands of casualties weaker and the North had make good their losses with new regiments. Lee needed to have that kind of victory, even more decisive, on northern soil. In order to do that the North had to blunder in some way. Look at all of Lee's most famous victories, the north fouled up in some way. Pope at Second Manassas, Hooker at Chancellorsville, McClellan several times. Meade did not make that kind of mistake. As long as he did not, Lee could not win.
Regards and can't wait for Number 2.

P.S. Will you have anything on Historicon 2019 in their new digs?

This was a great game to watch and an interesting scenario.

I have a few questions about the rules, is a unit which is surrounded on 3 sides allowed to recoil?

Can artillery advance forward after winning a close combat and as a result 'charge' into an enemy element?

Thanks!
