We asked, you answered...

As part of our Christmas wargame giveaway, we asked you to complete a 3-question survey about the first season of Little Wars TV. We already have lots of hard data from our YouTube analytics, but we wanted to dial in what you--our most engaged and committed viewers--want to see most.

A truly astounding percentage of you responded to the survey (either because you love us, or you just wanted a chance to win free wargames). We saw a 46% response rate, which is rather unheard of in world of voluntary online feedback. Your opinions and insights are already informing our pre-production on season two. Here's a fun taste of what you told us in the survey:

The period you want us to revisit is Napoleonics.

Of the eight eras we covered in season one, 25% want to return to the Napoleonic Wars, followed closely by World War II (21%), and the American Civil War (19%).

The new era you want us to explore is World War 1.

Our respondents suggested 52 different conflicts or eras of history to explore in season two. These ranged from the obscure--the South American Wars of liberation got one vote!--to the unexpected. But at the end of the day, 13% of all responses suggested World War I, followed closely by the Seven Years War (12%) the Thirty Years War (11%), and British Colonial conflicts (10%).

Stay tuned to our website for more information and behind the scenes looks at what is cooking for season two, but it's safe to say that we will be revisiting a couple familiar periods of history, as well as exploring several new ones!

SYW would be an interesting period to visit as there are a number of very good period specific rules available, e.g. Maurice, Honours of War, Age of Reason

Yes definitely!!! I would add Might and Reason (which might be Might & Reason) which imho delivers great historical flavor.

I learned of Little Wars TV too late to participate in the survey, but as an Ancients gamer of some 38 years experience, I would enjoy seeing more Ancients content.

BTW, I purchased Age of Hannibal and it is an excellent ruleset. More complex and 'granular' does not necessarily mean 'more historical!'
