Hey guys! I purchased Sons of Mars recently and the rules look really fun but I'm having trouble wrapping my head around how the matches are set up. It feels like if a player decides to enter a gladiator in match 4 of an event the player will have to sit and watch the other 3 matches and not participate. Is this right? Or are there several matches going on at the same time in different parts of the arena? Maybe you could do a video showing you guys having an event? The reason it could be a potential problem with the group I play with is they are mostly boardgamers and may not like a lot of down time between being able to play.

There is no downtime! At least, not in our games! We had 3 or 4 different matches all happening at once in the same arena! We ran ours as a round-robin of sorts, with the winners advancing to fight other winners. But we didn't want the losers to sit around with nothing to do, so we also had the loser of a match fight another loser. Everyone was engaged the entire time!
