Coming this Thursday on Little Wars TV, we're braving the frigid waters of the Delaware River to march with Washington on his lighting campaign into New Jersey. We'll be using one of the most popular set of wargaming rules on the market to fight what could rightly be considered the most important battle of the American Revolutionary War. Join us on YouTube later this week!
Until then, be sure to watch our interview with wargame designer and HAWKs member Buck Surdu! Have you watched this week's Trebia wargame and wish you could see some bloopers and outtakes? Exclusively for members only, we have a blooper reel available for Episode 106! Check back next week for more bonus content, including our Age of Hannibal rule review and a great terrain tutorial on how we made the custom battlefield for Trebia. And don't forget, this weekend you'll have the opportunity to see this game live, in person, at Barrage 2018 in Havre de Grace, Maryland. Little Wars TV will be there and we hope to meet some of you! Episode 106 features a famous engagement from the Punic Wars, while also marking the debut of a new set of rules published by Little Wars TV! That's right, our humble program is releasing the ancients system we've been playing and tweaking in our club for almost ten years. The rules will be released next week along with a slew of bonus content on YouTube. In our preview gallery below you can see some shots of the game, as well as original concept artwork for Age of Hannibal.
Visit us on YouTube this Tuesday for the premiere of our sixth main episode! It's hard to believe, but season one of Little Wars TV has reached the halfway mark! Over the last three months we've released a flood of historical wargaming videos on YouTube and been pleasantly surprised with the response from fellow gamers around the world. Here are some fun statistics about the series to date. Click "Read More" for a preview of what we're doing next week!
Coming up this Thursday on Little Wars TV...it's a tropical pool party! Enjoy some behind the scenes photos from our first naval battle in this members-only photo gallery. Visit us on YouTube later this week as we explore the South Pacific.
If you watched Episode 104, Fallujah, then you saw a bit of our club's round-table discussion between four military veterans. What you saw in that episode was only 8-10 minutes of a much longer discussion that we filmed for almost an hour. Some of the best bits that were left on the cutting room floor in editing are now available here, exclusively for our "Free Stuff" members. In addition to discussing Fallujah, our guys discuss the very notion of ultra-modern wargaming and how it sits with them as veterans. How would you feel as a wargamer, playing out a conflict on the tabletop that you or your friends may have fought in not long ago? Do these games trivialize the actual events? Listen to Josh, Woody, Chal, and Brian discuss the state of modern wargames. Want to see some behind the scenes flubs and gaffes from the fourth episode? This week's blooper reel and outtakes are available exclusively to our members here on the Little Wars TV site. Thanks again for signing up and joining us here for weekly bonus content! Check back next week for the extended round-table discussion among the club's military veterans. Little Wars TV Q&ASometime after the halfway point in the season--Episode 105--we're going to be filming a Q&A episode to answer your questions about the series. We've already have a number of good ones submitted via email or as YouTube comments on the videos. You have about a month to submit your questions and we'll pick the most interesting ones we can.
To ask questions, email us on the Contact page, leave a comment on this thread, or leave a comment on any of our YouTube videos. We do try to read all the comments on there! Maybe you want to know something about a scenario, our terrain, or our miniatures. Perhaps you have a gripe with the way we rate and review rule systems. Or maybe you want to know some behind the scenes scoop about how the games are filmed and how our club functions...whatever is on your mind, now's your chance to have us answer it live, on air. And by "live" I mean prerecorded and carefully edited. And by "on air" I mean on the internet. Coming this Thursday on Little Wars TV, we're excited for a unique episode. Some of our club's military veterans sit down for a round-table discussion of ultra-modern wargaming and whether it makes them uncomfortable to game real-life scenarios as former members of the US military. They'll also be discussing the lead up to one of the fiercest urban battles the Marine Corps has fought since Vietnam. Naturally, that's what our players will be gaming on the tabletop this week, so come back Thursday for Episode 104! It's our best looking tabletop yet! If you didn't see today's member-only, exclusive terrain tip video, be sure to check that out!
