One of the questions we received in our 100k Subscriber Q&A Event asked if Josh would share his orders of battle for the Gallipoli wargame. Truth be told, we kind of thought we ALREADY HAD shared this! But naturally, our eagle-eyed viewers are usually correct. We did not share these files until today. But here you go! At your request, we present Josh's briefings for the Gallipoli invasion, complete with pre-game decisions and orders of battle.

If you enjoyed our 1809 Battle of Talavera in 15mm scale, then we think you might enjoy some bonus video content we filmed after the game! Hop over to Patreon for a public, free post and watch our extended post-game player debrief immediately after the wargame.
And then, while you're there, Miles sits down to chat with David & Christopher Brown, the father-son co-authors of General d'Armee 2. They talk about the development of the game, design philosophy, other games they enjoy, and more. It was an honor to play our Talavera sequel with these gents and we had a blast at the club! Well...at least we have photographic evidence of one club member having fun anyway.... In our Bunker Hill episode we were honored to speak with Karl Warner, the chief of education programming for the Army Heritage & Education Center in Carlisle. Today we're bringing you an extended bonus outtake where he talks about how Stephen Ambrose researched a specific scene depicted in Band of Brothers. It's a fantastic insight and a great example of the kind of primary source material available to the public in the archive.
Go watch the interview right now for free on our Patreon page. It's a public post! Over on our Patreon page we shared our Gettysburg video, filmed 12 years ago. We're hoping it provides a little inspiration for you to film a game at home with your friends. There's a learning curve (clearly) and you can see our first attempt was not nearly as polished as our videos today. That's ok! This video is now a brilliant piece of club history and part of our scrapbook of memories.
Start building your own scrapbook and jump in with our 2025 Quick Strike challenge! Below, you'll find an even OLDER photo--this one from 2005. Twenty years ago, we were playing the Longstreet's attack on the Union left flank at Gettysburg. 15mm scale figures, Fire & Fury rules, and some pretty basic terrain. Back then, we weren't filming any video footage of games. We should have! It's a shame we didn't start until much later.
Rhys and Griffin served in remote roles, communicating only with the game umpire (Josh). They received maps and intelligence reports, but never saw the miniature tabletops or led troops in the field. They did issue written orders to their subcommanders, and now we're sharing those orders for the first time! Griffin's orders include his detailed deployment maps, as well.
Last week Tom & Greg reviewed the 2015 big battle rules Blucher, published by Sam Mustafa. If you missed the review, CHECK IT OUT, but in that review we briefly mentioned our old 1809 Danube campaign. This was a large campaign event run in the club ten years ago, organized and developed by Tom when Blucher first came out. Back then, we were all very excited about the new game and wanted to tackle a monster campaign.
