LIBYA, 203 BC. In an ambitious bid to end the fifteen-year Second Punic War, Publius Scipio embarks from Sicily with 30,000 men to bring the war to Carthage. With Hanninal still in Italy, Carthage can do little to stop the Roman expeditionary army from ravaging countryside and cleverly intervening in local Numidian politics. Seeking to establish a permanent base of supply, Scipio sets his eye on the port city of Utica, laying siege by land and sea. Can Utica's formidable defenses hold out long enough for relief to arrive from Carthage?
