Hannibal, Benedict Arnold & More!

Merry Christmas Little Wars TV fans! It's Week #3 of our scenario giveaway and we have another great slate of free historical battles for you to play at home.

On our Age of Hannibal page you'll find a free PDF for the Battle of the Tagus River, Hannibal's first independent command in Iberia before his war with Rome. This is a very unique scenario with unusual deployment rules.

On the Live Free or Die page we have a brand new scenario for Second Saratoga, or Bemis Heights! Here, Benedict Arnold was famously wounded in action urging the American troops forward.

In both cases, the scenarios could be easily adapted to other rule systems if you prefer.

This week's third scenario comes to you from WSS magazine and is from 1884 Sudan. Desert Dogfight Scenario

Ed prepared a fantastic scenario, "Falco Victorious," for our Christmas giveaway, based on a real-life encounter between some RAF Hurricanes and Italian CR.42s in December 1940. This is a well-documented dogfight that lasted approximately ten minutes, where the Italians actually managed to shoot down a pair of Hurricanes! Ed even included the names of the pilots involved in this action. If you want to take to the skies above Africa, download the free scenario!

Harvest Moon Scenario

It's December 1965 in Vietnam and the US Marine Corps has Operation Harvest Moon underway. As part of the LWTV Christmas giveaway, Dave prepared a free 'Nam scenario for you to refight the ambush at Ky Phu.

How to Make Napalm Explosion Markers

We received many comments from viewers on the Vietnam episode last week asking about our napalm explosion markers. These were hand-crafted for the game using some very basic supplies and, in this tutorial, we'll show you how to make some of your own! Let's start with the basic shopping list of what you'll need to make your markers:

FLICKERING TEA LIGHTS
WHITE PILLOW STUFFING
PIPE CLEANERS
CLEAR TRANSPARENCY SHEET
SCISSORS
BLACK SPRAY PAINT
GREY CRAFT PAINT

Historicon Free Game Files

In our Historicon 2021 recap video we interviewed Jeff Wasileski, the creator and game master for a spectacular Leonardo da Vinci-themed game. To run this game he mashed up the rules for Pikeman's Lament and Dragon Rampant. Jeff also created a lot of custom units and stats for his unique scenario. He kindly his scenario files for you to check out this epic mash-up at home!

Free AWI Scenario!

Last week we aired our epic, 4-table Brandywine wargame with the American Battlefield Trust! We had a blast playing this game on the battlefield using a streamlined set of rules we developed called Live Free or Die. The game was originally based on Andy Callan's brilliant 1987 article, Loose Files & American Scramble. If you find the homebrew and rule writing process interesting, we think you'll love our current podcast series tracking the writing and playtesting in real time.

The Princeton scenario appears in the main rule book and we also have a scenario booked called Victory or Death with 10 more famous battles of the war. We hope you guys enjoy the sneak peek at Princeton, which is a small game playable with very few figures.

If you saw our "choose your own ending" Austerlitz wargame on YouTube, then you know we played this epic battle on a 12' long custom table, divided into three sections. And to resolve the battle, we used Dave Brown's General d'Armee rules, modified for brigade-sized formations instead of battalions.
