Play the Trafalgar Scenario

9/10/2019

If you watched our massive Trafalgar wargame, you might be thinking about tackling this scenario with some of your mates. Normally, the Free Stuff page is where we would post the orders of battle, map, and rules for you to play exactly what we played. But this is a scenario we purchased from Starboard Tack Press on Wargames Vault! It wouldn't be appropriate to copy and post that scenario here, especially when it's available at the incredibly reasonable price of $3.50.

We'd rather you support this small, independent publisher by paying for a copy! It's well worth it. What we can post for you is a copy of the base labels Miles made our game--you are welcome to download the Excel file and use these for your ships!

Enjoyed the Trafalgar - liked the lead ship models ! Fren/Span tactics to turnaway was logical as the wind was against them! The Brits have the wind and can choose how BIG a bite to engage ! We did it in KC Mo a few times with plastic ships and about the same results - Brits win a minor win but win !

I liked the clear plastic pieces (movement system), the flashing smoke was good, the smoke pieces were large and blocked the view when the action got in close! The Brits with the wind might of bite off a smaller piece at the rear and got a bigger win (more concentration of force) ! A win is a win though...

I liked your Trafalgar video ! While you're at Barrage Con Sept. 27/28 I will be at RecruitsConvention.com here in KC Mo. playing battle games and talking to everybody here - 600 of my closest friends ! On Sat. 28 here they have a TRAFALGAR game on the schedule - I'll be looking at that game here in KC for Ships & Rules & FUN !!

I really loved the labels you guys put on each ship. Any chance of doing a two minute how-to video on making those?

There were other FASB scenarios on the old yahoo chat group. Since the demise of yahoo groups I have never been able to find them again. Anyone know where to get additional FASB scenarios? I remember Lemnos and Camperdown to be two such scenarios on the old yahoo site. Cheers Steve Nutt

The old AH "Wooden Ships and Iron Men" game had many battle situations in it as well as some new one in the AH "General" mags !
Many "OOB's" appear in many naval sailing ship warfare books on the period too ! We've done the AWR "Battle of the Capes" (many ships/ both fleets off Yorktown) here on tabletop as a large convention battle using the plastic Red/Blue MB "BROADSIDE" game ships on a blue fabric ocean ( look out for the 140 gun Ville-de-Paris) :-)
