Fire & Fury Rules - I have long NOT LIKED the use of these rules because players know that to get a higher result on the combat chart you have to "combine multiple units FIRE at a single enemy opposing unit" (ex: 4 rgts. & 1 art. batt. firing across the field at ONE ENEMY UNIT) - NOT HISTORICAL ! It is "historical" that each unit on the table fire across at the enemy unit opposite it BUT that rates LOWER on the combat chart with LOWER RESULTS and it takes longer to reach a more atritional historical result with BOTH SIDES getting very bloody ! We'll see how your players play it ??

Saw the "Bull Run" battle on the 14th and could NOT TELL if the firing combat (historical) was being used or not. Obviously "IF" one side vastly outnumbers the other side in a " battle location " (2 vs 1, 3 vs 1) then you could have a situation where you would have "multiple units together FIRING on single defending units" - my above comment was when BOTH attacking & defending forces were more or less equal across the field !

I like how comments are “required” in the comment section... I feel like a junkie jonesin’ for a fix waiting for the next episode! I like the F&F rules for what they’re for. I do like the Ball’s Bluff scenario and it’s a neat little battlefield in the midst of a subdivision of you’re ever in NOVA.

Ball's Bluff is a great little battle and several years ago I had the chance to visit with a local battlefield guide. We rarely play ACW in the club at such a small scale, though.

I get that. It may be a good way to get new folks interested. A pretty small, evenly matched battle and one with huge ramifications.

But hmmm. One of the most decisive battles? The Yankees look Eastern. You've already done Antietam and Gettysburg. Bull Run? Chancellorsville?
